Het Normo and MFF establish cooperation under Energy Act 2026

Het Normo and the Market Facilitation Forum (MFF) have laid down their cooperation in a covenant under the Energy Act 2026. This ensures that the agreements and working methods on data exchange in the energy market can continue uninterrupted under the new legal framework.

The Energy Act replaces the Electricity and Gas Act and assigns Het Normo the central role of the data exchange entity (GUE), responsible for unlocking the energy data. Through the MFF, market parties are consulted about the agreements for that data exchange.

“With this covenant, we keep what works. It provides clarity about roles, tasks and responsibilities without having to set up a new organization”, says Klaas Hommes, director of Het Normo. “The market parties mainly want certainty and continuity. We have now arranged that”, adds MFF chairman Harold Veldkamp.

With the covenant, the cooperation is well prepared for the entry into force of the Energy Act on 1 January 2026, ensuring clarity and confidence for the future.
